I am reminded of a historical figure who might well have possessed the virtue contained here, namely, Count Helmuth von Moltke, Prussian General Chief of Staff, diplomat and linguist, whose greatest skill in the art of diplomacy was said to have been his ability to keep silent in seven languages.
